Objective:
TODAY.com needed a new recipe page template that would increase search traffic to the Food section.

Process:

• Defined goals and requirements with stakeholders
• Collected user data from online surveys and previous user studies
• Identified and designed new feature elements to entice reader interest in additional recipes 
• Used Photoshop to create hi-fidelity designs
• Implemented template design with HTML5 and CSS3
• Coordinated communication between stakeholders, developers and design team to implement schema markup for search, ratings and print functionality

New Features:

• Print recipe button
• Five star ratings with count
• Related tags at the end of body content
• Contextually related content module at end of body content
• Newsletter module in right rail
• Community call-to-action in right rail
• Contextual video re-circ in right rail
• Popular contextual module in right rail

Outcome:
With the new recipe pages, our search traffic increased to the food section resulting in 413,655 more page views in the first month. The new feature "More Recipes" accounted for the highest click on the page despite the module only being in view for 26% of users.
